Definition: Page Speed

Page Speed is how fast an individual webpage loads. It can be measured in many ways but is generally considered as how long it takes for a page to load completely.

Improving Page Speed is part of Technical SEO, with faster page loads times helping pages to rank higher on search engine results page. Fast load times are also important to eCommerce, with multiple studies reporting that load times over 2 seconds cost sales.

Not to be confused with

Site Speed – which is the average Page Speed across a sample of pages, or a sample of page views.
